Joy Nored, LPC
Joy received her BS Degree from the University of West Alabama. She received her Masters in Behavioral Sciences Degree from Cameron University in 2001. Joy has 6 years of clinical experience, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
"I was trained in the modern Psychodynamic approaches to therapy. Though exposed to numerous theoretical approaches, I believe that the Cognitive-Behavioral approach, for me, best explains the thought and behavioral processes of mankind. This theory examines the thought processes and behavioral choices we make. My understanding of the Cognitive-Behavioral Theory, as well as biblical principles, leads me to believe that our thoughts, emotions, motivations (cognitive process) and behaviors (behavioral responses) can be changed, if we so choose. This possibility of change offers hope to every client."
Joy is married to Julian Nored and they have two daughters. Her interests include reading and writing letters, music, exploration of new thoughts, spiritual growth and meditation. Her life verse is Phil. 1:6 "…being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
